Custom Printing & Personalization Policies



A customer service representative will call for all products that require personalization or custom printing. If you have ordered the product before, they will simply confirm that no changes are required to your existing artwork.

If this is your first time ordering this product or changes are required to your previous artwork:
  • We may require that you fax us your existing form, card or product to give us a starting point for your artwork and to assure that we have the right spellings, layout and items you would like included.

  • A proof will be faxed to you for approval.

  • We will require you to sign both the proof and the accompanying Artwork Approval form which details the quantity, ink colours, paper etc. before we can proceed with your order.


Note: Quantity discounts and minimums apply only to items with the EXACT same printing. For example, if you order 500 cards for Dr. Smith and 500 for his partner Dr. Jones this order is treated as 2 orders of 500 and NOT 1 order of 1000.

Artwork Charges

For most items, artwork charges will not apply and a black & white proof will be provided for FREE. Colour proofs are available at an additional charge of $10.00 CND, however we do not guarantee that your colour selections will be represented 100% accurately.

A one time artwork fee will be charged for custom forms, newsletters, custom logos and other products requiring a lot of typesetting or time. Artwork is charged at a rate of $65/hr. If you would like an estimate on your artwork charges please contact us at 1-800-265-2644. Assure you have a draft of your design ready to fax or mail in.

NOTE: Although we will still need to get your document into a professional printing format, providing us with an editable Microsoft Word format can greatly reduce your typesetting & artwork charges.

Adding Images

Royal Cross will be happy to let you use any image from our postcards, business cards, brochures or handouts for your custom printing order. However, certain restrictions apply* (see below). We also have a large variety of images not currently used in our products and would be happy to search our databases for an image that would suit your needs. Just let us know what you are looking for and we will check for you at no charge.

If we do not have a suitable image, we would be happy to help you purchase an image. Getting us involved early assures that you purchase the right size and type of image for your project and that you do not pay too much.

If you have an image that you would like to use, send it to use and we will assess the image quality and its viability for your print project.

If you are using pictures from a digital camera, assure your camera has a minimum of 3 megapixels and is set to maximum quality.

* Some of our images are not Royalty Free and can not be used. All images will remain the property of Royal Cross and will not be provided for use on print documents not produced by Royal Cross, for websites or for other uses. If Royal Cross purchases an image on your behalf, you will be provided an electronic version to use as you wish, however, Royal Cross reserves the right to use the image in future products.

Returns

Custom printing items and products that have been personalized may not be returned. Please assure that the proofs you are sent are EXACTLY the way you want them printed and that the Artwork cover sheet correctly describes your quantities, ink, paper etc.

If you are unsure about your ink colours, papers or the product, please request samples before signing your proofs.
